The Mould King 12007 – BR18 201 German Express Train is a remote-controlled building block model of the German express train BR 18 201. With 2,348 parts, it creates an 87 cm long model with a steam locomotive, passenger cars, and RC drive – designed by Marbleman.

The Original – the Deutsche Reichsbahn BR 18 201

The BR 18 201 is the fastest preserved steam locomotive in the world. It was developed in 1960 by the Deutsche Reichsbahn (GDR) from the conversion of older locomotives and completed in 1961. With a top speed of 182.5 km/h, it was the fastest steam locomotive in regular service on the Berlin–Hamburg route in its time. Its boiler and drive technology were highly modern for the standards of the time. The BR 18 201 wears the camouflage livery it was given for test runs on the Berlin Nordbahn in the early 1960s – a characteristic feature that earned it the nickname "the camouflage." Today, it stands as an operational monument under special protection and is one of the few historically significant, operational high-speed steam locomotives in Europe.
