The roughly 250-meter-long lead ship of the Bismarck class carried as its main armament eight 38 cm guns in four twin turrets, designated Anton, Bruno, Cäsar and Dora. In May 1941, she set out together with the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen for Operation Rheinübung and sank the British battlecruiser HMS Hood on 24 May in the Battle of the Denmark Strait. Two days later, a torpedo hit disabled her steering gear, and on 27 May 1941 she sank in the North Atlantic. The wreck was discovered in 1989 by Robert Ballard.

The model – Reobrix 77051

The model shows the hull with grey superstructure, light-colored deck and red underwater hull. The four twin turrets of the main artillery can be rotated 360 degrees, as can the fire control stations. Added to this are secondary and anti-aircraft guns, an onboard aircraft, three ship propellers and anchor chains. The build is constructed in layers: beneath the upper deck are modules such as the boiler room, the main artillery ammunition hoist and the engine room. The Bismarck is designed as a static display model without a motor or lighting, with labeling applied via stickers.
