Das Original – der Reihensechszylinder-Truckmotor

Der Reihensechszylinder (Inline-6) ist die klassische Motorbauform schwerer Nutzfahrzeuge. Bei dieser Anordnung stehen alle sechs Zylinder in einer Reihe hintereinander, was für einen besonders ruhigen und laufruhigen Betrieb sorgt. In LKW und schweren Zugmaschinen werden solche Dieselmotoren wegen ihrer Langlebigkeit, ihres hohen Drehmoments und ihrer Zuverlässigkeit eingesetzt. Kombiniert mit einem robusten Getriebe bilden sie den Antriebsstrang, der schwere Lasten über lange Strecken bewegt. Der Reihensechszylinder gilt als Rückgrat der Nutzfahrzeugtechnik.
