The Mould King 12030 – The General Train is a remote-controlled building block model of the legendary American steam locomotive "The General". With 977 parts, a 36 cm long model is created, featuring the locomotive, a freight car, a freight station with a level crossing, and over 2 meters of oval track – designed by Marbleman.

The Original – The Steam Locomotive "The General"

The steam locomotive "The General" is one of the most famous locomotives in American history. It was built in 1855 and ran for the Western & Atlantic Railroad. It became world-famous through the "Great Locomotive Chase" on April 12, 1862, during the American Civil War: Union soldier James J. Andrews and his men hijacked the locomotive in Marietta, Georgia, to sabotage Confederate supply lines. Confederate train conductor William Fuller pursued them in a wild chase over more than 100 kilometers. The episode became known as "Andrews' Raid" and was filmed twice. The original locomotive is still on display today at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia.
