The Dassault Rafale is a twin-engine multi-role combat aircraft from the French manufacturer Dassault Aviation. It made its maiden flight in 1986 and has been in service since 2001. The Rafale (French for "gust of wind") is an "omnirole" fighter that excels in air combat, ground attack, and reconnaissance.
