Description

The Mould King 12023 – ÖBB 1189.08 Electric Locomotive is a remote-controlled building block model of the Austrian "Crocodile" electric locomotive ÖBB 1189.08. With 919 parts, it creates a 48 cm long, drivable model with a characteristic Bo-Bo-Bo bogie arrangement, pantograph, and RC drive – designed by Marbleman.

The Original – the ÖBB 1189.08

The ÖBB 1189.08 is an Austrian electric locomotive developed by Siemens as part of the Eurosprinter locomotive family and put into service in 2005. It is used by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) for freight and passenger transport. Technically, it belongs to the ES 64 U4 series and is related to the German BR 189 of DB. The locomotive has a maximum output of 6,400 kW and a top speed of 200 km/h. Its characteristic feature is the Bo-Bo-Bo wheel arrangement – three bogies, each with two driven axles – as well as the distinctive pantograph on the roof. It earned the nickname "Crocodile" due to its long, flat silhouette. The locomotive is designed for cross-border operation under various power systems in Europe.

The Model – Mould King 12023

The Mould King ÖBB 1189.08 model replicates the typical Crocodile shape with three independently moving bogies and the large pantograph on the roof. The locomotive drives forwards and backwards and can be controlled via the included remote control or a smartphone app. Motors, battery box, and remote control are included.
