The Guly 10651 – Ford GT Tuning Edition recreates one of the most radical supercars of the last few decades in 3,402 building bricks: the Ford GT. Scale 1:8, metallic-grey body, a striking racing stripe running the full length of the car, and yellow sports seats in the cockpit – plus a widened tuning look that gives the original even more edge.

The original: a car born out of defiance

The story begins in 1963 with a deal gone wrong. Henry Ford II wanted to buy Ferrari, but Enzo Ferrari let the negotiations collapse at the last minute – so Ford built a car with one single goal: beat Ferrari at Le Mans. The result was the GT40. In 1966 it took a triple victory, then went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row.

In 2015, Ford unveiled the new GT as a tribute to that very car. In 2016 it returned to Le Mans and won its class – exactly fifty years to the day after the GT40's triumph. Only around 1,350 units were built. Anyone who wanted to buy one had to apply directly to Ford; money alone wasn't enough.

The technology behind the original

Instead of a large-displacement V8, the Ford GT relies on a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with an engine concept taken straight from motorsport: around 656 hp and roughly 746 Nm of torque, sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sprint to 100 km/h takes about three seconds, with a top speed of around 348 km/h.

But the real star is the aerodynamics. The monocoque and body panels are made of carbon, bringing the weight down to about 1,385 kilograms. The most striking feature is the Flying Buttresses: the slim struts between the roof and rear are hollow, letting air flow through the rear fenders instead of around them. Add to that an active rear wing, an active suspension system that lowers the car noticeably in track mode, and upward-opening doors.

The Tuning Edition

This model doesn't show the GT in its stock form, but styled as a widebody build – the way tuners interpret the Ford GT when aerodynamics become a showpiece. Carbon-textured elements on the front splitter, diffuser and rear wing, widened wheel arches, and a lowered front end. Anyone familiar with the standard GT will immediately spot what's been deliberately exaggerated here.

The kit translates the original's engineering into building bricks: a functional steering linkage, shift paddles on the steering wheel, two-tone racing seats, and a finely detailed dashboard. The upward-opening doors reveal the cockpit inside. The Guly 10651 is designed as a static set – without motorisation, but with a strong focus on proportion, surface detail, and accuracy.
