The Original – the Dodge Viper

The Dodge Viper is an American high-performance sports car introduced by Dodge in 1992 as a tribute to the legendary American V8 muscle cars of the 1960s. Its trademark from the beginning was the massive 8.0-liter V10 engine, with power increasing from 406 hp in the first model to over 645 hp in later versions. Without stability control, without ABS in the early models, and with a raw, direct driving feel, the Viper was a vehicle that demanded real driving skill. Its design with the long engine bay, wide fenders, low roadster body, and flowing lines was never fully modernized – the Viper always remained a child of the American muscle car tradition. Production ceased in 2017; today, it is a sought-after collector's item.
