1. Compass of Values
1.1 We, the team at KBS-Shop, are a dynamic, growing company in a constantly changing society. We love the challenges of the building block world and focus on innovation and quality. We are aware of our responsibility toward society, our customers, our employees, and our international business partners.
1.2 We stand by fulfilling this responsibility by making our daily decisions in line with ethical, moral, and legal standards.
1.3 This Code of Conduct serves as a guide for each of us, regardless of our position in the company. At the same time, it describes the standards we expect from our partners in the supply chain. Leaders actively set an example of this compass of values and raise their teams’ awareness of our standards.
2. Respect and Human Dignity
2.1 We respect human dignity and uphold internationally recognized human rights (UN Human Rights Charter, ILO core labor standards).
2.2 We strictly reject any form of abuse, intimidation, discrimination, and harassment. This includes, in particular, bullying, verbal abuse, and unfair treatment of any kind.
2.3 We promote a working environment characterized by respect, openness, and diversity. Different perspectives enrich our creativity.
2.4 We expect everyone involved to act responsibly and do not tolerate intoxicating substances in the workplace.
3. Prohibition of Child Labor and Forced Labor
3.1 We do not tolerate child labor and strictly observe the legal minimum age for employment.
3.2 We expect our international business partners and manufacturers to take proactive measures to prevent child labor in their operations.
3.3 We categorically reject any form of forced or compulsory labor, human trafficking, or slavery-like practices.
3.4 Employment must always be voluntary, without withholding documents or imposing unjustified sanctions.
4. Fair Compensation, Working Hours, and Workplace Safety
4.1 We comply with all legal provisions on compensation and ensure adherence to minimum wages.
4.2 We observe legal working hours, rest breaks, and vacation entitlements.
4.3 Health and safety in the workplace (especially in logistics and warehousing) has top priority. We create safe working conditions and train our employees regularly.
4.4 Required protective equipment is provided and must be used properly. Unsafe conditions must be reported and remedied immediately.
5. Diversity and Inclusion
5.1 We value the diversity of our community and our employees. No one is discriminated against because of origin, gender, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
5.2 We create an environment of equal opportunity for all.
6. Fair Competition
6.1 KBS-Shop stands for fair competition. Our success is based on quality and performance, not on unfair collusion.
7. Prohibition of Corruption and Bribery
7.1 We reject any form of bribery. Gifts or invitations intended to improperly influence business decisions will not be accepted.
7.2 Transparency and fairness are the foundation of our business relationships.
7.3 We act in accordance with anti-money laundering regulations as well as import and export controls for our international imports.
8. Conflicts of Interest
8.1 Personal interests must be clearly separated from business decisions. Potential conflicts must be disclosed.
8.2 The acceptance of cash or inappropriate benefits is generally prohibited.
9. Data Protection and Confidentiality
9.1 Protecting customer data (especially payment and contact data) as well as business secrets has the highest priority. We work in compliance with the GDPR.
9.2 We use modern technical security measures to ensure information security in our online shop.
9.3 Confidential information is protected even after a collaboration ends.
10. Product Quality and Consumer Safety
10.1 Quality is at the core of our brand. From selecting manufacturers to shipping, we check our products for safety.
10.2 We ensure that our products comply with applicable legal requirements (CE marking and toy safety guidelines).
10.3 Our overseas partners are carefully vetted. We maintain close relationships with manufacturers to guarantee consistently high quality of the bricks and sets.
10.4 Complaints are handled in a structured process to permanently eliminate sources of errors and continuously improve customer satisfaction.
11. Sustainability
11.1 We are aware of our environmental responsibility and are working to gradually make processes such as shipping packaging and logistics routes more sustainable. For imports, this is based on the most environmentally friendly solution, sea freight.
11.2 We strive to integrate sustainability as a fixed part of our corporate culture and decision-making processes.
12. Expectations of Business Partners
12.1 This Code of Conduct also sets out our expectations of our suppliers and manufacturers.
12.2 We are committed to transparency in the supply chain. Together with our partners, we want to avoid negative impacts on people and the environment.
12.3 We reserve the right to check compliance with these standards among our partners through appropriate procedures.
13. Reporting Violations
13.1 Reports of violations of this code may be submitted at any time. The contact person is customer service.
13.2 All reports are reviewed confidentially and anonymously upon request. Retaliation against whistleblowers will not be tolerated.
