The Mould King 12031 – Union Pacific 844 Steam Locomotive is a remote-controlled building block model of the legendary American steam locomotive Union Pacific 844. With 3,357 parts, it creates an over 104 cm long model with RC drive, LED headlights, steam effect, and an oval track – designed by the well-known MOC designer Marbleman.

The Original – the Union Pacific 844

The Union Pacific 844 is one of North America's most famous steam locomotives and an important piece of American railway history. It is a 4-8-4 "Northern" type locomotive, built in December 1944 by the American Locomotive Company (ALCO). It was the last steam locomotive delivered new to Union Pacific. The UP 844 operated fast passenger service until diesel locomotives took over, and was then used in freight service. Unlike many of its contemporaries, it was never scrapped but preserved and restored – it is still operational today and used for heritage excursions. This makes it one of the few high-speed steam locomotives in the world still in operation.

The Mould King 12031 model depicts the Union Pacific 844 with a steam locomotive, coal tender, and water tank car, connected by magnetic couplings. The LED front headlight illuminates. The model produces a real steam effect. It is controlled remotely via the included remote control or a smartphone app. Included in the delivery: 2x L-motors, lithium battery box, remote control, and an oval track with a 1.7 m diameter.
